Hey There!
I’m Jessica McWilliam, but you can call me Jess!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) proudly serving clients across
New York and Connecticut
for eight years.
I’m passionate about guiding young adults through life’s twists and turns, and I’d love to partner with you on your journey to greater confidence, balance, and well-being.
My Background & Credentials
Degrees & Training:

My Therapeutic Approach
I believe every person has strengths and resources they can draw upon even when life feels overwhelming.
In our work together, I’ll meet you where you are, with:
A Strength-Based Perspective: We’ll identify and build on your existing skills, talents, and resilience.
Relational Foundation: Therapy is a human connection. I’ll lean into honest, authentic dialogue, sharing insights, reflections, and yes, sometimes a laugh or two.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Pinpoint unhelpful thought patterns and swap them for more balanced, reality-based perspectives.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Develop practical skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Psychodynamic Resources: When it feels right, we’ll explore deeper patterns and early experiences that shape your present and gently rewrite the narratives that no longer serve you.
Our Advantage
Humor & Real Talk: Expect warmth, honesty, and an occasional well-timed expletive. Therapy doesn’t have to be stiff; I want you to feel at ease being your full self.
Authentic Connection: I draw on my own relational experiences (where appropriate) to foster trust, understanding, and genuine empathy.
Tailored Support: No two clients are alike. I’ll adapt our sessions to your personality, goals, and pace, whether we’re problem-solving, skill-building, or reflecting on life stories.

Jessica Outside the Office
Family Life: I’m happily married and a devoted mom, and by “mom,” I mean I’m head over heels for my Cocker Spaniel, Sebago (pronounced sah-bay-go), named after my favorite Maine lake.
Nature Lover: You’ll often find me outdoors—walking forest trails, taking a refreshing swim, or savoring a cup of coffee in the sunshine.
Community & Balance: I believe self-care isn’t selfish. Whether it’s a weekend hike or a quiet moment with a book and my pup, I bring balance and vitality into my own life, and I’ll cheer you on to do the same.
